Utah Jazz Business Development Intern – Sandy, UT

Position Summary
The Business Development & Partnerships Internship with the Utah Jazz (under Smith Entertainment Group) is a full-time, six-month, on-site role (April 15–September 15) based in Sandy/Salt Lake City, UT. This 40-hour/week internship supports Business Development, Partnerships, and Sales Operations teams through project coordination, partnership strategy, pitch development, and event execution. Interns gain hands-on experience driving revenue growth, supporting premium experiences, and contributing to client-facing sales initiatives within a professional sports organization.

Smith Entertainment Group is the parent company of the Utah Jazz, Utah Mammoth, and Delta Center. SEG oversees partnership sales, corporate sponsorships, premium hospitality, and large-scale sports and entertainment events in Utah. Requirements

• Current bachelor’s student or recent graduate (business, marketing, communications, sports management preferred)
• Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, PowerPoint, Google Slides, Canva
• Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
• Reliable transportation for event responsibilities
• Ability to pass background screening
• Preferred: CRM (Salesforce/HubSpot), project management tools (Asana), basic design skills

Responsibilities

• Support daily operations and project tracking (Asana and internal systems)
• Assist in developing pitch decks, creative briefs, and experiential mockups
• Maintain partnership inventory and sales materials
• Contribute to brainstorming partnership and sponsorship ideas
• Support marketing campaigns, networking events, premium experiences, and activations
• Assist with event setup, hospitality coordination, and breakdown
• Collaborate across departments to ensure timely execution of partnership initiatives
