Position Summary
The Athletics Marketing Graduate Assistant position at the University of Mississippi is a two-year, full-time opportunity (2026–27 and 2027–28) within the Ole Miss Athletics Marketing & Fan Experience Department. The selected candidate will assist in developing, implementing, and evaluating promotional and communication strategies designed to grow brand visibility, increase attendance, and drive revenue. This role provides direct, hands-on experience in Division I athletics marketing, fan engagement, sponsorship fulfillment, and ticket sales strategy.

The Marketing & Fan Experience unit works collaboratively with communications, creative services, ticket operations, and corporate sponsorship teams to enhance the fan experience and strengthen the university’s athletic brand across multiple sports programs.

Requirements

  • At least one year of experience in the sports industry
  • Admission to and full-time enrollment (9 hours) in the Ole Miss Graduate School
  • Strong communication, organization, and professionalism
  • Willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Working knowledge of basic computer applications and ability to learn new systems
  • Successful completion of a background check

Responsibilities

  • Serve as lead marketing contact for volleyball, rifle, cross country, and track & field
  • Assist with marketing efforts for women’s basketball, baseball, and football
  • Develop and execute promotional plans, theme days, and fan engagement initiatives
  • Collaborate with ticket operations and development teams on revenue strategies
  • Manage marketing budgets for assigned sports
  • Oversee advertising creation and execution
  • Support sponsorship activation and fulfillment
  • Produce targeted marketing emails to drive attendance and ticket sales
