Position Summary
The Athletics Communications Graduate Assistant position at the University of Mississippi is a two-year, full-time opportunity (2026–27 and 2027–28) within the Ole Miss Athletics Communications Department. Graduate assistants will gain hands-on experience in Division I athletic communications, serving as a primary media contact for at least one sport while supporting additional programs. Requirements
- Admission to and full-time enrollment (9 hours) in the Ole Miss Graduate School
- Successful completion of a background check
- Strong written and verbal communication skills

- Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays
- Familiarity with basic computer applications and willingness to learn new systems
Responsibilities
- Serve as primary media contact for at least one assigned sport
- Serve as secondary contact for another sport
- Write press releases, game recaps, and feature stories
- Manage and maintain sport-specific social media accounts
- Update website content and maintain historical archives
- Produce media guides, game programs, and publications
- Report required information to the NCAA and SEC
- Assist in coordinating home athletic events
